Upcoming Programs

First off, we have college counselor Trish Jumper stopping by on Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 p.m. to give a talk on college admissions, focusing on summer college visits for those of you who have them scheduled on your to-do list.

Reading Buddies registration starts Monday, May 14th. If you're 13 and older and like working with children ages 3-7, consider spending a couple of hours a week at the library reading with them in the Children's Room. Reading Buddies training sessions are scheduled for Wed., June 6th and Mon., June 18th at 6:00 p.m. You need to attend one session if you've never been a Buddy before. Stop by the Adult Reference Desk to register and fill out a form with your preferred time, and your vacation schedule. The program runs from Mon. June 25th through Thursday, August 16th. Returning Buddies need to register and submit that form, but don't need a training session. Stop in or call the library at (914)245-5262, ext. 227 or 228. Space is limited, so only teens who live or go to school in the Yorktown area will be accepted.
